 My aim is to accurately portray the subject that I choose, and to do so with an appreciation of the beauty of the paint application itself. I'm happy with a work if it visually interesting both from a distance and up close.
I believe any scene, even an uninteresting one, can be depicted in an aesthetically appealing manner. People are pre-wired, maybe in a mathematical sense, to recognize order and harmony. It is this harmony I strive for in my work.
